Romavilla Winery was established in 1863 and today proudly grows and produces a wide variety of table wines such as Riesling, Viognier, Chenin Blanc, Crouchen, Garganega, Zinfandel, Shiraz, Merlot, and Cabernet, as well as superb fortified wines - Tawnies, Muscats, Imperial (Madeira style) and Amontillado.

Romavilla is located approximately 500km west of Brisbane on the western slopes of the Great Dividing Range.

Today Romavilla is owned by David and Joy Wall. Along with their son, Richard, as Vineyard Manager and Assistant winemaker, and who has gained international experience working in California USA, David and Joy have modernised the winery equipment to continue production of interesting and quality table wines as well as the luscious fortifieds and Sauternes style for which the Winery became so famous during the 1950s and 1960s. They have also extended the vineyard by planting varieties such as Viognier, Ruby Cabernet, Merlot, Zinfandel and Garganega.

Romavilla Winery has adopted a mixture of the traditional methods of handcrafted winemaking, as well as utilising some modern equipment, and technologies.

The soil is sandy loam and grape varieties now grown include Riesling, Viognier, Chenin Blanc, Crouchen, Garganega, Shiraz, Merlot, Ruby Cabernet and Muscats.
