Explore Queensland's Oldest Winery
Samuel Bassett established the Romavilla Winery in 1863 and sold the first wine in 1866. At present, the Queensland's oldest winery is owned and managed by David and Joy Wall together with their son, Richard who is also the Vineyard Manager and Assistant winemaker.

Romavilla continues to produce table wines and fortified wines. But this time a modernised equipment are used for wine-making. Moreover, grape-growing has expanded featuring a variety of wine grapes such as Garganega, Merlot, Ruby Cabernet, Viognier, and Zinfandel.

If you want to visit the winery, Romavilla is open on Mondays to Fridays from 8am to 5pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 4pm. During public holidays, the winery is open from 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 4pm on Anzac Day. But is closed during Christmas Day and Good Friday. www.romavilla.com
